Yellowstone Pete Belgrade Montana Mule Train RPPC

Belgrade, Montana makes an appearance on this fantastic Yellowstone Pete real photo postcard, and honestly the whole thing feels like a lost chapter from a road trip before roads got convenient.

This vintage RPPC shows Yellowstone Pete driving a mule team hitched to a covered wagon, with signage reading Yellowstone Pete Seeing America by Mule Train. The wagon also appears to reference Belgrade, Montana, making this a particularly nice piece for collectors of Montana history, Western Americana, early travel photography, and real photo postcards.

There is a wonderful sense of movement in this image: the mules in harness, the wagon rolling through open country, and Yellowstone Pete doing the kind of cross-country travel that required patience, grit, and presumably a very flexible schedule. In other words, not exactly a three-day weekend getaway.

This would be excellent framed, displayed with old maps or Western photographs, or added to a serious RPPC collection. It is also exactly the kind of piece that makes people lean in and ask questions, which is really what good vintage does best.
