There is something wonderfully formal about salt and pepper getting their own little architectural towers.
This matched pair of vintage silver-plated shakers was made by W.B. Mfg. Co., associated with Weidlich Brothers, and features tall tapered bodies with raised scroll decoration, domed perforated tops, and faceted bases. The underside is marked with the W.B. Mfg. Co. shield and “PAT. JUNE 18 29 / U.S.A.,” tying the design to a 1929 patent date.
The pair has substantial age-related tarnish and surface variation, especially on one shaker, which gives them the unmistakable look of real tableware that has actually lived a life.
Condition: Fair to good vintage condition with tarnish, oxidation, scratches, dark spotting, and plate wear. Both shaker tops are present. Sold as a matched pair.
Marked: W.B. Mfg. Co.; PAT. JUNE 18 29; U.S.A.
