This is a teacup for anyone who believes tea tastes slightly better when served with flowers and gold trim. I am not prepared to prove that scientifically, but the evidence is compelling.
The white porcelain cup and matching saucer are decorated with clusters of purple violets and soft green leaves, finished with delicate gold edging and gently shaped rims. The cup has an elegant flared profile and raised molded detailing near the rim. The underside of the saucer carries the mark “L-14,” but no manufacturer's backstamp is visible in the supplied photos.
Pretty without being overly fussy, it works beautifully for a tea collection, cottage-style cabinet, vanity display, or as a small gift for someone who has successfully made “having a favorite teacup” part of their personality.
Condition: Vintage used condition with light surface wear and some wear to the gold trim consistent with age. No major chips or cracks. Maker is unidentified.
