This vintage U.S. post office box door has all the industrial charm a piece of old hardware should: textured dark metal, raised brass-tone “U S” lettering, a numbered combination dial, and a glass-front number window displaying 14. The original lock mechanism and mounting hardware remain on the back, making it just as interesting from the mechanical side as it is from the front.
It would be excellent as architectural salvage, postal memorabilia, an industrial display piece, or the start of a very specific conversation about what might once have been waiting behind Door No. 14.
Condition: Vintage used condition with substantial patina, oxidation, finish wear, dust, scratches, and age-related surface changes. The dial and rear mechanism are present. Function and combination have not been verified, so it is being sold as decorative/collectible hardware rather than as a guaranteed working lock.
