This little bisque child stands about two and a half inches tall and has the wonderfully serious expression of someone who has been waiting a very long time to be assigned a job.
The figure has painted blond hair, a soft orange pleated tunic, green socks or boots, and brown shoes. The flat feet suggest it may have been made as a dollhouse figure, cake decoration, miniature display piece, or small toy. There is no visible maker's mark, so the exact origin remains a mystery.
It is a charming, imperfect survivor for a doll collection, miniature scene, or shelf of tiny people with complicated backstories.
Condition: Fair vintage condition with notable paint loss, rubbing, surface soil, discoloration, and wear to the face, clothing, and shoes. The flat foot bottoms are unmarked. No obvious major break was visible in the supplied photos.
