Apparently a simple vase was not enough. This one needed a swan, a wall of curling leaves, and approximately nine inches of turquoise confidence.
This sculptural ceramic vase is attributed to McCoy Pottery and features a graceful swan tucked against tall, fan-shaped leaves. The glossy aqua glaze pools slightly in the recessed lines, emphasizing the feathers, stems, and broad botanical curves. The open top is formed by the leaves themselves, making the vase as decorative empty as it is filled.
At approximately 9 inches tall, it has enough scale to anchor a shelf, mantel, or grandmillennial arrangement without taking over the entire room. It is an excellent example of the wonderfully theatrical figural pottery produced for mid-century American homes.
Condition: Good vintage condition with overall glaze crazing, underside wear and residue, small manufacturing irregularities, and age-related surface marks. No obvious major cracks or large chips. Please review the images closely.
