Before calculators lived in every pocket, this was how the math got done.
This vintage wooden Chinese abacus bears its original Lotus-Flower Brand label and is marked Made in the People’s Republic of China. The black-painted frame holds dark wooden beads on slender rods in a traditional Chinese-style arrangement, with brass-tone hardware adding a little extra character.
Approximately 12 inches wide
Condition: Good vintage condition with paint loss, scratches, scuffs, oxidation to the hardware, dust, patina and discoloration throughout. The original Lotus-Flower Brand label remains intact and readable.
A wonderfully tactile piece for a desk, library shelf or collection of vintage calculating tools.
