She has lost her jar, but she has retained her dignity.
This vintage blue pressed-glass lid features a seated woman in a long draped gown, molded in softly frosted blue glass and mounted on a substantial octagonal base. Viewed from different angles, the figure shifts from pale icy blue to deeper cobalt at the folds of her dress and along the beveled edge.
The piece was originally made as the figural lid for a vanity powder jar or dresser box. The matching bottom is no longer present, so this listing is for the lid only. Even on her own, she makes a striking Art Deco-style display piece, paperweight, or replacement lid for a collector fortunate enough to have the corresponding base.
Condition: Vintage condition with surface wear, small marks, and possible tiny edge nicks consistent with age. The matching jar or container is not included. Please inspect the photographs carefully for fit and condition before purchasing as a replacement component.
