Somewhere between a detective novel, a word puzzle, and a church basement game night sits this wonderfully odd little vintage booklet. And I do mean that as a compliment.

This 7 Minute Mysteries booklet was written by Austin Ripley and prepared by the Program Department of the National Catholic Community Service in Washington, D.C. Inside are short crime and psychological mystery problems meant to be solved before checking the scrambled solution at the end of each case. Think bite-sized detective work before everyone had a tiny glowing rectangle available to ruin their attention span.

The cover graphic is fantastic: bold red printing, a suspicious figure, a clock, and the kind of dramatic promise that says yes, you can absolutely solve a crime during your coffee break. It is a great little piece of vintage paper ephemera for collectors of mysteries, mid-century booklets, Catholic service organization materials, puzzle books, or anything that feels like it was once handed out with great seriousness at a community program table.

Perfect for a paper ephemera collection, a vintage bookshelf vignette, a mystery lover gift, or that one friend who still insists they would have made an excellent detective.

Condition: Vintage pre-owned condition with age toning, cover wear, handling marks, and edge/corner wear visible. Interior pages appear readable from the photos. Please review photos carefully, because this little booklet has clearly lived a life and solved a few crimes along the way.

Confidence notes: Title, author, and organization are visible in the photos. Exact publication date is not shown, so dating is estimated based on style, paper, and printing.
