A wonderfully elaborate round trinket or vanity box covered in dense pierced floral and scrolling openwork, with a domed lid and an aged leather or suede-covered base. The metal has developed a beautifully moody patina that gives this piece plenty of old-world character. We have not found a hallmark, so the metal is described conservatively as silver-tone rather than sterling. A striking little place for jewelry, keepsakes, or secrets that probably deserve a better hiding place.
Condition: Vintage condition with visible tarnish, oxidation, surface wear, and age-related wear and discoloration to the underside covering. The openwork appears largely intact. Please review photos for condition details.
