This is the parasol handle for someone who believed even practical objects deserved jewelry.
Measuring approximately 13 inches long, this ornate handle combines luminous mother-of-pearl panels with elaborate gold-tone metal mounts covered in engraved scrollwork and feather-like decoration. The large flared end is especially beautiful, with sweeping shell-like panels framed by detailed metalwork. A short section of the original shaft remains at the opposite end.
It is an exceptional decorative survivor for a collection of Victorian fashion accessories, parasols, mother-of-pearl objects or antique vanity pieces.
Condition: Good antique/vintage condition with surface wear, patina and age-related marks. Mother-of-pearl panels appear intact in the photos. Metal is untested and is described as gold-tone only. Original parasol is not present.
