This miniature Egyptian sarcophagus is only about two and a quarter inches long, but it has committed fully to the theme.
The blue coffin-shaped outer case holds a removable cream-colored pharaoh or mummy figure decorated with molded Egyptian-style symbols. Beneath the figure, the interior shows a bright mosaic-like pattern. A small magnet appears to hold the two pieces together, making it part souvenir, part tiny puzzle, and part object that will make everyone pick it up to see what it does.
The original purpose is uncertain; it may have been sold as a souvenir, novelty magnet, or small decorative trinket.
Condition: Good used vintage condition with scratches, small surface marks, dust, and light discoloration. The cream figure removes from the blue coffin-shaped case and appears to be retained magnetically.
