Some Christmas wishes are apparently too important to trust to ordinary mail.
This large Goebel Hummel figurine depicts a bundled child stretching up to place a letter into a snow-topped postbox, with a small satchel resting at the base. The soft teal coat, blue winter hat, coral trousers, and gently weathered wooden post give the scene the storybook warmth Hummel collectors love. At approximately 9 inches tall, this is a substantial display piece rather than one of the smaller shelf-sized figurines.
The design is commonly identified as “Letter to Santa,” Hum 340. The underside bears a blue Goebel W. Germany mark that appears consistent with the TMK-6 period.
It would be right at home in a Christmas display, a Hummel collection, or with someone who still believes handwritten letters should receive a little ceremony.
Condition: Very good vintage condition with light surface wear consistent with age. No obvious chips, cracks, or repairs are visible. Please review all photos closely.
