Two girls, one mandolin, one sheet of music, and absolutely no evidence that either of them has ever argued about who gets the melody.
This is Goebel Hummel "Close Harmony,” depicting two young girls singing together while one plays a small stringed instrument and the other follows along on printed music. The figurine stands approximately 5 1/2 inches tall and carries a blue “© Goebel W. Germany” mark on the underside.
Comparable examples identify this blue W. Germany mark with the later West German production period, commonly associated with TMK-5-era pieces. The familiar warm hand-painted palette, softly modeled faces and quietly charming scene are exactly why these Hummel figures have continued to find collectors for generations.
Condition: Very good vintage condition from the provided photos, with no obvious chips, cracks or repairs visible. Light base wear and normal age-related surface marks may be present. Please inspect photos carefully.
For Hummel collectors: model identification is "Close Harmony”
