Tall, floral and just dramatic enough to deserve its own shelf.
This approximately 10-inch brass vase has a wonderfully sinuous Art Nouveau look, with a narrow waist, flared mouth and raised iris decoration climbing the body. The surface has developed a warm aged patina that gives the floral relief even more depth.
Whether it is an original period piece or a later Art Nouveau revival example is uncertain, so I am keeping the dating conservative. What is not uncertain is that it looks excellent with or without flowers.
Condition: Vintage condition with patina, scratches, tarnish, spotting and surface wear. Rim shows irregularity and age-related wear. Soldering/construction is visible at the base. No maker's mark observed.
