Before cardboard cartons took over the world, apparently eggs traveled first class. This early wooden Star Egg Carrier & Tray was manufactured in Rochester, New York and retains bold advertising text, dovetailed corners, small feet, a metal carrying handle and its compartmented interior tray. The side identifies U.S. Patent No. 722,512, while the opposite panel retains the wonderfully serious original Condition of Sale language. Included is the assortment of old display eggs shown in the photos, made in mixed materials that we are leaving unattributed where not certain.
Condition: Antique condition with substantial age and use wear, including staining and surface wear to the wood, wear to printed lettering, oxidation to the metal handle, and aged, bent or damaged interior dividers.
