This elaborate double napkin ring is not interested in being a background accessory. Two connected rings sit behind a winged cherub surrounded by sweeping leaves, scrolls, and ornamental flourishes. It is part tableware, part miniature stage set.
Double napkin rings were traditionally used to hold two napkins, often for a married couple or coordinated place setting. Today, this one would make a striking addition to a collection of figural silver, Victorian table pieces, or decorative curiosities.
Condition: Antique or vintage condition with dark patina, oxidation, dust in recessed areas, scratches, and surface wear. The rings and decorative front show age-related irregularities. No readable silver hallmark was observed, so the material is listed as silverplate or silver-tone metal. Maker and exact date are unknown.
