A pair of early Spokane advertising calendars from Inland Hardware Co., both carrying the excellent slogan, “Start Your Shopping Trip Here.” Apparently they were not interested in easing customers into the concept.
The 1920 calendar features a woman by the sea as part of a “Famous Poem Series,” while the 1922 example shows a historical interior scene titled “Washington’s Last Birthday.” Each combines a mounted calendar pad, period artwork, and local business advertising for the East Sprague Avenue store.
These are being sold together and would be especially appealing to collectors of Spokane history, antique advertising, hardware-store memorabilia, or early paper calendars.
Condition: Fair antique condition with age toning, stains, edge and corner wear, small creases, surface rubs, and general handling wear. Calendar pads appear present for November 1920 and September 1922. Sold together as found.
