1898 Morgan Silver Dollar struck at the Philadelphia Mint.
Designed by George T. Morgan, the Morgan Dollar is a classic of late-19th-century American coinage. The obverse depicts Liberty surrounded by stars, while the reverse features an eagle with outstretched wings within a wreath.
This 1898 Philadelphia issue has no mint mark. The coin retains appealing detail in Liberty’s hair, cap, and surrounding lettering, as well as the eagle’s feathers and wreath. The surfaces show circulation wear, scattered contact marks, light scratches, and age-related coloration.
